Karimnagar: A youngster died by suicide in Sriramulapalli of Illandakunta mandal on Thursday, allegedly after being harassed over unpaid loans taken from online loan apps to fund his online betting addiction.

Akhilesh, had been staying at home after failing to clear a few subjects in his B.Tech course. According to his family, he became addicted to online betting and borrowed money through digital loan apps to continue gambling.

With mounting pressure from loan app organisers to repay the dues, Akhilesh reportedly took the extreme step by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house.
