Hyderabad: Online/digital classes for the academic year 2021-22 are set to begin from Thursday. Given the Covid-19 pandemic and keeping the safety of students in view, the State government had decided to hold online/digital classes to ensure that students do not lose an academic year.

Students of classes 3 to 10 will have digital lessons on DD Yadagiri and T-SAT Vidya channel. For a month, the School Education Department has decided to revise key lessons and concepts taught in the last academic year. Accordingly, the department on Wednesday issued a class-wise timetable for digital classes for July 1 to 7.

Digital classes on the T-SAT Vidya channel will commence from 9 am and on DD Yadagiri from 10.30 am. This will benefit 27 lakh students studying in government schools across the State.
Similarly, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education on Tuesday released a timetable for second year intermediate courses.

As per the schedule issued for July 1 to 15, digital lessons for regular courses will be on DD Yadagiri from 8 am to 10.30 and 3 pm to 6 pm. In the case of vocational courses, they will be broadcast on T-SAT network channels from 7 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 8.30 pm. Each class will be for 30 minutes.

As per the instructions from the government, attendance of the teaching staff in educational institutions has been limited to 50 per cent while the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education said all non-teaching staff should report for duty in government degree colleges.

All teaching and non-teaching staff have been instructed to mark bio-metric attendance when attending college. While working from home, teaching staff were asked to record online classes/lessons and submit the same to the principal and academic cell of the commissionerate.
