Mancherial: As many as 100 youngsters were detained for causing nuisance at night and for consuming liquor in public places in several parts of the town during an ‘Operation Chabutra’ carried out on Thursday night. Around 45 policemen led by Mancherial ACP Sadhana Rashmi Perumal descended on the streets and important junctions of the town at 10 pm. They apprehended the youngsters who were boozing and causing inconvenience to the public. They counseled and released them. Motorbikes of those who could not show driving license and registration were seized.
Sadhana advised the youngsters not to spoil their career by getting addicted to liquor and indulging in illegal activities. She requested parents to track their children and to prevent if they were habituated to bad habits. She said that similar operations would be held every day from Friday and trouble-makers would be arrested, besides seizing vehicles. She added that crime history would adversely affect their future.
Inspectors K Narayana Naik, B Srinivas, Sub-Inspectors Kiran Kumar, Gangaram, Tahseenuddin, head constables and constables took part in the operation.
