Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Thursday said opposition parties have no future in Telangana State. The Minister was speaking after more than 300 members from different political parties from Athmakur (S) mandal joined the TRS at his camp office here.
Jagdish Reddy said the dreams of opposition leaders over their political future would remain unfulfilled. “People are not ready to extend support to opposition parties because of their anti-development attitude. Moreover, the opposition parties failed even to play their expected role in extending constructive suggestions to the State government, and instead, are indulging in mudslinging against the State government for political mileage,” he said.
Taking on both the Congress and BJP for acting in favour of Andhra during the bifurcation exercise, he said they never supported irrigation projects taken up by the State government to provide irrigation facility to farmers in Telangana. Moreover, some leaders of opposition parties also approached the court against irrigation projects taken up by the State government.
He questioned as to how can leaders of opposition parties expect support of the people of Telangana in this situation? He reminded that the people have rejected the opposition parties in every elections from grama panchayat to Legislative Assembly level held in the State since 2014.
He said the people of Telangana would always stand by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav and Zilla Parishad Chairman Gopagani Venkatanarayana Gound were also present.
