Hyderabad: The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) unit of Osmania General Hospital on Tuesday has temporarily suspended its strike following assurances from health authorities.
The Junior doctors had launched the protest to highlight critical infrastructure challenges, acute shortages of essential medical supplies, diagnostic constraints, and inadequate equipment that affected patient care and the academic training of undergraduate students and postgraduate residents at Osmania Medical College and Osmania General Hospital.
Following deliberations, health authorities assured junior doctors that visible improvements would be implemented on the ground within ten days. In response to the assurances, the TJUDA unit of OGH decided to give the administration the stipulated period to deliver tangible progress, a press release said.
The junior doctors maintained that the suspension of strike is temporary and is not a withdrawal of their core demands.
The TJUDA members clarified that they will keep a close tab on the ground-level implementation over the next ten days. “Our objective is to strengthen public healthcare delivery and safeguard the academic environment for future physicians,” they said.
