Hyderabad: Osmania University professor G. Laxman’s book, September 17, Telangana Vimochana Day, was released at a special programme organised by the State BJP at its Nampally office on Tuesday.
State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao presided over the programme, while Rajya Sabha MP Laxman chaired the event.
The BJP had invited select individuals who had fought the Nizam’s armed forces to end his rule, besides employees and professionals who had played a role in the separate Telangana movement.
Addressing the gathering, Professor G. Laxman alleged that successive governments were ignoring the real people of Telangana who had fought both for the State’s liberation and for separate Statehood. He alleged that the governments were doing so for vote-bank politics.
State BJP president Ramchander Rao and Rajya Sabha MP Laxman felicitated several individuals, including former president of the CT Gazetted Officers Association T. Venkateswarlu, retired headmaster Thota Rangaiah, retired ACTO Kannoju Ramesh and High Court advocate K. M. Venugopal, among others, a press release said.
