According to Prof Kasim, Osmania University Vice Chancellor Prof M Kumar and he had requested the Chief Minister to visit the university. The Chief Minister obliged and visited the university in August 2025.
Stating that there was a need to save the OU, the Chief Minister himself announced Rs 1,000 crore without the varsity asking for it in August 2025, he said.
“The Chief Minister said he would visit the university again for a meeting at the Arts College with a Rs 1,000 crore sanction order copy. As per assurance, he visited the university with Rs 1,000 crore order copy and the same was incorporated in the State Budget. However, so far, there is no progress with regard to Rs 1,000 crore for the university. There is no use in delaying and dragging it out before giving it,” he said.
