Hyderabad: Two clerks working at the Osmania University were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials when they demanded and accepted a bribe from a person to process the pension benefits of a woman who had retired recently.
According to the ACB, K Ramesh (48), junior assistant at the Osmania University Administrative Building, Pay Bill Section, had demanded the bribe for himself and Aravind, senior assistant, pay bill section.
“The amount was demanded as a reward for the already processed file of the complainant’s mother, pension benefit file to submit to higher officers and as undue advantage to process the file of retirement benefits,” said the ACB.
The arrested individuals were produced before the ACB cases court in Nampally.
