Osmania University hosts AIU Central Zone Vice Chancellors’ Meet
Osmania University hosted the Central Zone Vice-Chancellors’ Meet 2025–26, attended by over 100 VCs and Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. The two-day conclave focused on creating AI- and quantum-enabled higher education institutions.

Hyderabad: The iconic Tagore Auditorium at Osmania University hosted the inaugural session of the Central Zone Vice Chancellors’ Meet.
Organised in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the two-day conclave brings together over 100 Vice Chancellors from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh to deliberate on the theme: ‘Creating AI- and Quantum-Enabled Higher Educational Institutions.’
The event was attended by Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana, alongside distinguished leaders from the AIU and apex bodies, including AICTE, NAAC, and ICAR.
This strategic initiative establishes Osmania University among the leading universities in India to institutionalise Artificial Intelligence as a core capability supporting national infrastructure, healthcare systems, and industrial transformation. This Centre is structured to function as a national academic and technology resource platform supporting Government, public sector, and inter-university initiatives.
