Osmania University hosts national seminar on AI’s impact on accounting education

Hyderabad: Osmania University College of Commerce and Business Management, in collaboration with the Hyderabad branch of the Indian Accounting Association (IAA), hosted a one-day national seminar here on Saturday on the theme, “Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Accounting Education: With Special Reference to Curriculum Design, Execution and Assessment”.

Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. M Kumar underscored the need to prepare graduates for a rapidly evolving, technology-centred professional ecosystem by modernising curriculum frameworks, refining pedagogical methods and upgrading assessment standards.


College Principal Prof. Indrakanti Sekhar stressed that higher education institutions must stay ahead of the curve, while OU Registrar Prof. G Naresh Reddy highlighted how rapid advancements in artificial intelligence were redefining the accounting profession.

IAA Hyderabad Branch Chairman Prof. D Obul Reddy observed that modern accounting demands more than foundational knowledge and requires graduates equipped with strong technological, analytical, problem-solving and professional capabilities.
