Hyderabad: The Osmania University (OU) has created a new record of its sort by securing four internationally recognised ISO certifications from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

The certifications are ISO 21001:2018 – Educational Organizations Management System, ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management System, ISO 50001:2018 – Energy Management System and ISO 22000:2018 – Food Safety Management System.

These certifications, the university administration said, reflect the university’s dedication to implementing world-class education, environmental conservation, energy efficiency, food safety, and internationally accepted management practices.

OU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram said, “By adopting contemporary global standards, we are preparing Osmania to face future challenges. We are shaping the university to compete internationally and to meet the needs of students and society”.

BIS Chennai Deputy Director General (Southern Region) & Scientist ‘F’ Sandeep Kumar Kanojia said securing these rigorous international certifications is a magnificent achievement. “However, this is only the beginning of the quality journey, not the destination. The real success lies in continuously maintaining and further developing these quality standards,” he added.
