Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) women’s tennis team eased into semifinals after defeating Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the All India Inter-University Women Tennis Championship at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal Sonipat, Haryana on Sunday.

Sama Satwika crushed Nancy 6-0, 6-0 in the first match. Later, in the second match Avishka Gupta thrashed Ritu Olyan 6-0, 6-1 to guide Osmania University to victory.


Results: Quarterfinals: Osmania University (OU) bt Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) 2-0; Sama Satwika (OU) bt Nancy (MDU) 6-0, 6-0; Avishka Gupta (OU) bt Ritu Olyan (MDU) 6-0, 6-1.
