Hyderabad: Osmania University has launched the University Management System (UMS) and e-Office solutions which were aimed at making administration work simpler.
The UMS and e-Office solutions were launched by OU Vice-Chancellor Prof D Ravinder and Commissioner of Collegiate Education Navin Mittal here on Wednesday. The UMS has over 19 modules for different administration-related activities so that everything can be managed digitally.
Student-related modules help in keeping track of the student during their lifecycle in the university or college. These modules help students to know about their payment due for colleges or hostels, and other entities so that they can do so in time from the comforts of their home/hostel.
The other modules empower university and college administrators and faculty to manage regular tasks such as student admission in departments, student records, faculty, attendance, fees, assignments, etc.
“Once fully implemented, the UMS will help in ease of operations, functionality and better communication. It will also help in student, faculty and other staff attendance monitoring besides implementation of university almanac and ease of payments, finance and tracking dues and spends,” Prof. Ravinder said.
The UMS will be a single-window solution for faculty to maintain their curriculum vitae besides set up class and teaching schedules and their management too. The e-Office system allows for quick disposal of files electronically and paperless.
“The launch and implementation of UMS and e-Office by university administration is a transformative step which is going to ensure greater transparency and accountability besides saving time and reducing unnecessary paperwork,” Mittal said.
