Hyderabad: Prof B Balaswamy, Department of Communication and Journalism, Osmania University, died of Covid-19 on Friday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kacheguda. He was 47 and is survived by wife and two sons.

He joined the department in 2004. Earlier, he worked as assistant and associate professor at Assam University. He did his PG and doctorate from the University of Hyderabad.

OU professors and students expressed shock over his death and extended their condolences.
