Hyderabad: A team of 13 students from second and third year BE Mechanical, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the SAE Collegiate Club, University College of Engineering, Osmania University, have bagged first prize for their ‘Invincibles’, a conventional hybrid vehicle which is an electrically assisted three wheeled, two-seater human powered vehicle at the national level Efficycle challenge 2021.
Conducted by the Society for Automotive Engineers, India, the Efficycle event provided an opportunity for engineering students to conceptualise an eco-friendly future mobility solution in India.
Students were given the task to design electrically-assisted three wheeled, two-seater human powered vehicles. The vehicle’s performance was evaluated on the basis of design, cost, marketability, acceleration, maneuverability, utility and durability etc, the College said on Thursday.
The OUCE team was led by Abhinav Karthikeya from third year BE Mechanical Engineering and Ankita Kadem from second year BE EEE branch under the mentorship of faculty advisor Madhu Sudhan Raju and SAE Collegiate Club, OUCE, faculty coordinator Prof V Uma Maheshwar.
Osmania University Vice Chancellor Prof D Ravinder, Registrar Prof Laxminarayana, and OUCE Principal, Prof Sriram Venkatesh congratulated the students.
