Hyderabad: Osmania University men’s tennis team marched into the final defeating SV University, Tirupathi 3-0 at the All India inter-university tennis championship, being held at KIIT University, Bhubaneshwar, on Monday.

Captain Sai Karteek downed Burra Sai Ram 6-2, 6-0 in the opening match to put his side in the lead. L Suhith Reddy then downed Sivadeep Kosaraju 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 to double the lead. In the doubles, both Sai Karteek and Suhith Reddy then downed the pair of Savadeep and Rohit 6-4, 1-6, 6-1. This is the first time that the Osmania University entered the final.

Results: Semis: OU bt SV University (Tirupathi) 3-0 (G Sai Karteek bt Borra SaiRam 6-2, 6-0; L Suhith Reddy bt Sivadeep Kosaraju 5-7, 6-2,6-2; G Sai Karteek Reddy/Suhith Reddy bt Sivadeep Kosaraju/A K Rohit 6-4,1-6, 6-1.
