Hyderabad: Osmania University will be presenting the ‘Vice Chancellor’s Research Award’ to regular teachers for research excellence at Tagore Auditorium on the university campus on Monday.
As many as 30 applications were scrutinised by the special Deans committee through a series of meetings based on parameters such as impact factor, Scopus Index, UGC care II, ABDC Journal, Thomson Reuters, IEEE, papers published, research papers presented in national and international conferences and research projects executed etc., the OU said on Sunday.
The annual awards that were instituted last year to encourage the university faculty to excel in the research and development would be presented in three categories: Faculties of Arts, Social Science, Commerce, Management, Law, Education, Oriental Languages (Category – I), Faculties of Science (Category – II) and Faculties of Engineering, Informatics, Technology and Pharmacy (Category – III). The award carries a citation, certificate and a cash prize, it said.
In addition, one younger faculty member from the UGC FRP was also considered for the award. Appreciation certificates for the faculty members who completed research projects, consultancy works and those who obtained patents would also be distributed during the event, it said.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi Director, Prof V Ramgopal Rao, Telangana State Council of Higher Education Chairman, Prof R Limbadri, Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics Director, Dr. K Thangaraj, Director, (CDFD) and OU Vice Chancellor Prof. D Ravinder among others will take part in the event.
