Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) women’s tennis team defeated the Rajasthan University (RU) 2-0 in the summit clash to emerge champions of the All India Inter-University Women Tennis Championship at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal Sonipat, Haryana on Tuesday.

In the final, Sama Satwika thrashed Ayushi Tanwar (RU) 6-1, 6-0 to put her side in the lead. Later, Avishka Gupta overcame Farhat Aleen Qamar (RU) 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-5 in a three hour 10 minutes match to lift the title. Results: Final: Osmania University (OU) bt Rajasthan University (RU) 2-0 (Sama Satwika (OU) bt Ayushi Tanwar (RU) 6-1, 6-0; Avishka Gupta (OU) bt Farhat Aleen Qamar (RU) 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-5).
