Hyderabad: The women representatives of Osmania University Teachers Association (OUTA) expressed their gratitude towards Telangana government for allocating special funds to improve the infrastructure facilities for women staff and girl students at universities in the State budget 2021-22. Last week, a team led by OUTA vice-president Dr B Lavanya and joint secretary G Vijaya Lakshmi submitted a survey report regarding the facilities for women at the Osmania University colleges.
They requested Finance Minister T Harish Rao to allocate an exclusive gender Budget to improve the infrastructure facilities for women in the campus and constituent colleges of Osmania University. Considering the request, Harish Rao allocated Rs 10 crore in the Budget towards providing separate ‘She Toilets’ at the universities for the benefit of women faculty as well as girl students.
“We profusely thank Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Finance Minister T Harish Rao for considering our request and providing funds for improving facilities for women,” Dr Lavanya said.
