Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Runners Society, in association with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), hosted the 5th Edition of Starlight Strides – Women’s Night Run 2025 at Gachibowli on Saturday night. The event celebrated women’s safety, fitness, and empowerment, bringing together over 1,100 enthusiastic participants under the shimmering night sky.
The run was flagged off by Srujana, DCP, Women Safety, Kalyan, Director, Kalamandir and Arun Kumar, President, Hyderabad Runners Society. The SCSC extended on-ground support by deploying 20 trained traffic marshals, ensuring seamless coordination and participant safety throughout the evening.
“It’s inspiring to see so many women participating in a night run dedicated exclusively to them,” said Srujana. “Women too can run with power and grace — Kalamandir is proud to support such meaningful initiatives,” added Mr Kalyan.
Adding colour and tradition to the event, several saree runners joined the race — their participation drew loud cheers and became one of the evening’s highlights. The run featured three categories — 10K Timed Run, 5K Timed Run, and 5K Fun Run — welcoming women of all age groups and fitness levels.
