Hyderabad: A total of 11,82,020 individuals in Telangana have so far received the first dose of Covid vaccine since the launch of the vaccination drive on January 16, according to the vaccination bulletin released by the Director of Public Health (DPH) here on Sunday.
Those vaccinated with first dose include 2,28,391 healthcare workers, 1,18,670 frontline workers, and 8,34,959 individuals 45 years of age and above.
On Saturday, 41,488 individuals above 45 years received the first dose of Covid vaccine while another 10,053 persons in the same age category received the second dose of Covid vaccine. So far, 2,56,808 persons including healthcare workers, frontline workers and persons above 45 years have received two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
According to the DPH, based on the eVIN portal, Telangana has received 15,50,890 doses of Covid vaccine. Nearly 40,540 doses were exclusively issued to armed forces and another 34,990 doses were allocated to be set-aside as buffer doses at Covid Vaccination Centres (CVC) for advance scheduling. The net amount of vaccine doses that have been consumed in Telangana State was 14,75,360 while the vaccine wastage was around 2.48 per cent.
Vaccination is available at all the government healthcare facilities including urban primary health centres and community health centres in districts. The health department and private healthcare establishments are conducting Covid vaccination drive on all days including Sundays and public holidays.
