Mahabubnagar: The lockdown is being implemented effectively in Mahabubnagar and over 11,000 cases have been booked so far for different violations, district Superintendent of Police R Venkateswarlu has said.
Since May 12, the day lockdown came into force, 11,746 cases had been booked. Among these, 358 cases were booked on shopkeepers, 7,288 on mask-less persons and 4,073 on vehicle owners for plying on the roads without valid reasons, the SP said.

These are the testing times and people need to show discipline and extend their cooperation to the government in containing the Covid spread. Many surveys had indicated that youth were getting infected in the second wave, and families should take all precautions bearing this in their minds, he appealed. People should have a social responsibility and save themselves and their families from the pandemic by following Covid protocols, he added.
