Amaravati: The COVID cases are on the rise in Andhra Pradesh day by day and out of the 38,479 samples tested during the last 24 hours, 1,257 have tested positive for coronavirus disease, according the the Medical and Health department.

With this, the number of active cases in the state increased to 4,774 on Sunday.

Two persons–one in Guntur and another in Visakhapatnam died due to the disease during the past 24 hours.

Chittoor district recorded the highest number of cases at 254 during this period while the number was 196 in Visakhapatnam, 138 in Anntapur, 117 in Krishna and 104 in Guntur district, while 140 patients have recovered from COVID.
