Hyderabad: Over 250 women runners from different walks of life turned up to take part in Women’s Special Run, organised by Hyderabad Runners Society (HRS), at Sanjeevaiah Park to celebrate the spirit of women’s fitness, empowerment, and community participation.

Apart from health enthusiasts and amateur women runners, the Women’s Special Run was also attended by Dr P Lavanya Naik Jadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Women & Child Safety Wing, Hyderabad City Police, SHE Teams and the Bharosa Center.

Speaking on the occasion, the DCP shared an inspiring message on women’s safety, empowerment, and the importance of staying active. The presence of the senior woman police officer added significance to the occasion, reinforcing the importance of community-driven initiatives, a statement from HRS said.

Speaking on the occasion, President, HRS, Arun Kumar said that the Society is committed to promoting inclusive fitness by creating platforms that empower women through running and community engagement.

Running and staying active help women live longer, feel stronger, think more clearly, and stay independent. It’s not about being athletic, it’s about taking care of your body and mind at every stage of life, he added.
