Over 25,000 visitors flock to Nehru Zoological Park on New Year’s Day
Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad witnessed heavy footfall on New Year’s Day, with around 25,900 visitors. Zoo officials ensured smooth crowd movement through online ticketing, extra counters, and staff deployment across enclosures and attractions.

Hyderabad: Visitors in large numbers thronged the Nehru Zoological Park on the occasion of New Year’s Day on Thursday. According to the officials, the zoo played host to around 25,900 visitors today.
All the officers and staff members of the zoo were deployed at different locations for constant vigil and free movement of visitors. The online booking system, with a feature of booking tickets on mobile phones, helped the visitors in quick entry into the zoo. However, additional booking counters were also opened, officials said.
Security guards and staff members were deployed at all the animal enclosures to safeguard the animals and also assist visitors in better sighting of wild animals. More number of visitors was seen at the enclosures of tigers, lions, elephants, giraffes and zebras.
The reptile house and nocturnal animal house, apart from rides like safari park complex, train ride, battery operated vehicle ride also attracted visitors. The curator, J Vasantha, thanked the visitors for choosing Hyderabad Zoo as their New Year’s Day holiday picnic spot.
