Medak: Finance Minister T Harish Rao said that the State government had placed over 3 lakh Remdesivir injections across government hospitals in Telangana besides possessing the capacity to produce 400 to 500 metric tonnes of oxygen every day.
Speaking to newspersons after he visited Covid-19 ward at Government Hospital Medak here on Thursday, the Minister said that there were 219 Remdesivir injections available in Medak Hospital too.
Elaborating on various efforts of Telangana government to treat the Covid-19 patients, Rao said that they have set up special beds at King Koti Hospital and Gandhi Hospital to treat the patients suffering from Black Fungus.
Talking about Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao’s foresightedness, he said that it was a rare thing to see a Chief Minister visiting Covid-19 ward, which infused confidence among the patients.
Saying that they have clamped the lockdown to control the spread of the Covid-19, Rao suggested the people follow the government guidelines. Though the people were allowed to walk out of their homes from 6 am onwards, the Minister said that people were coming in groups after 8 am. He appealed to citizens to start visiting the markets from 6 am. While interacting with the patients admitted at the Medak Hospital, the Minister advised them to stay confident.
Earlier, on his way to Medak town, the Minister visited a couple of paddy procurement centres to examine the progress of the paddy procurement in the district. He assured the farmers that government would purchase every gain of the farmers.
Later, Rao held a review meeting with Collector S Harish, MLA M Padmadevendar Reddy and others.
Harish Rao congratulated the newly appointed TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission) member R Satyanarayana, who met him during his Medak visit.
