Hyderabad: Eighty employees of TS Transco lost their lives during the second wave of Covid-19 virus and over 3,000 of them were affected with the virus, said TS Transco Chairman and Managing Director D Prabhakar Rao said here on Saturday.

“We will soon start administering vaccines to employees as we have already brought the matter to the notice of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao,” he said after presenting a cheque of Rs.70 lakh to NIMS Director K Manohar for purchasing 10 ventilators.

The TS Transco employees were working hard to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all sectors in the State, he said, adding that the staff was adhering to Covid safety protocols while discharging their duties.

“We are happy to give funds to NIMS under corporate social responsibility,” Rao said. He said doctors were rendering valuable services to the patients during the pandemic.

NIMS Director Dr K Manohar said 500 new beds were established on the hospital premises in a week and thanked Rao for extending help in providing 10 ventilators.
