Over 4.70L persons under high risk category vaccinated by GHMC
When the drive commenced on May 28, a total of 21,815 persons were vaccinated and since June 6, every day more than 34,000 persons are being administered with the vaccine
Hyderabad: Over 4.70 lakh persons were administered with free vaccines in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits under the massive vaccination drive organised for people falling under the high-risk category. When the drive commenced on May 28, a total of 21,815 persons were vaccinated and since June 6, every day more than 34,000 persons are being administered with the vaccine. On Saturday, a total of 39,212 beneficiaries received the free vaccine shot.
According to GHMC officials, persons working in grocery shops, rythu bazaars, grocery shops, salons, laundry service, pan shops, markets (vegetable, fruits, flowers, chicken, meat and fish) as well as street vendors were categorised as high-risk groups.
The civic body officials are visiting the markets and public places to enroll eligible persons for free vaccine. The beneficiaries are initially being enrolled in the State government’s app. At the vaccination centre before the person takes the shot, the details are entered in the CoWIN app. The drive is also being monitored by senior officials.
