Over 900 caught in drunk driving crackdown across Hyderabad tri-commissionerates
Traffic police across Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri caught 981 persons during a special drunken driving check on Saturday night. Offenders will face court proceedings, and police warned that causing fatal accidents under intoxication could invite serious charges under the BNS Act.

Hyderabad: The traffic police in tri-commissionerates of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri, caught 981 persons during drunk driving checks on Saturday night.
The Hyderabad police caught the highest 401 persons, followed by Malkajgiri police – 299 and Cyberabad police 281 persons.
The check was conducted at various spots where accidents attributed to drunk driving are reported. The police booked cases against the persons caught during the checking and all the violators have to appear before the court for legal proceedings.
The police warned that anyone found to be driving in an inebriated condition and causing an accident will be booked under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of BNS Act, which entails 10 years imprisonment.
