Overnight showers break three-week dry spell in Hyderabad
After three weeks of dry weather, Hyderabad and several districts in Telangana witnessed light to heavy showers, significantly lowering temperatures. Northern Telangana districts recorded very heavy rainfall, with Kotapally, Kannepalli, and Tandur among the highest.
Hyderabad: After a dry spell that lasted for about three weeks, light to moderate showers swept through Hyderabad, bringing down maximum temperatures.
The overnight showers, which continued on Tuesday morning, resulted in a pleasant, breezy morning.
Adjoining districts of Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Cyberabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri also received light to moderate showers ranging from a maximum of 34.3 mm to 10 mm between Monday evening and early hours of Tuesday.
Several districts, especially in northern Telangana, received intense, heavy-to-very heavy spells of rainfall. Parts of Mancherial district that received maximum rainfall include Kotapally (124.3 mm), Kannepalli (123.0 mm), and Tandur (120.3 mm), TSDPS rainfall data indicated.
Heavy downpours ranging between 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm lashed Kamanpur (109.5 mm) Peddapalli, Venkatapur (104.3 mm) and Wazeed (91.0 mm) in Mulugu and Mahadevpur (96.3 mm) in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
