Overseas job consultancy cheats Hyderabad aspirants of over Rs 1 crore

The Hyderabad Central Crime Station police booked a Himayatnagar-based overseas consultancy for cheating around 40 job aspirants of over Rs 1.05 crore. The firm allegedly issued fake work permits, withheld passports, and promised jobs in several foreign countries.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Central Crime Station police have booked a case against an overseas consultancy for allegedly cheating several job aspirants of over Rs 1.05 crore by promising jobs abroad.

Police said the directors of the Himayatnagar-based consultancy had allegedly issued fake overseas work permits and withheld the victims’ passports.


They cheated nearly 40 job seekers through social media advertisements, promising employment in countries such as Australia, Germany, Lithuania, Malta, Albania, Laos, China, New Zealand and Luxembourg.

Several aspirants approached the consultancy directly or through influencers. Based on a complaint from one of the victims, the police registered a case and took up investigation. Police said the accused had misused the collected money.
