Owaisi slams Congress govt over repeated Puranapul disturbances
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has criticised the Congress government and police over repeated disturbances in Puranapul, alleging weak intelligence and failure to catch culprits. He urged the government to study incidents carefully and ensure public safety.
Hyderabad: All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said the Congress government and the police higher-ups should ensure that incidents such as ‘Puranapul disturbance’ don’t occur.
He said that for the last three to four years, such incidents are repeating in the State. “Eighty per cent of the incidents are happening at night. The police intelligence network is weak; they are not aware of what is happening,” alleged Owaisi.
On Wednesday, miscreants damaged a flexi and a PoP idol at Puranapul Darwaza, triggering an angry reaction from the local community. Owaisi said the government should study the incidents properly and take steps to prevent violence.
“The government is creating and promoting ‘Future City’, so why such incidents are happening. The police are not able to catch culprits and they should strengthen themselves. Law and order is not a political issue, it is an issue that concerns the safety of common man,” Owaisi added.
