Hyderabad: Chief national badminton coach P Gopichand unveiled the Allen World Junior 10K Run jersey here on Friday.
Gopi said that these kinds of runs help in promoting fitness, awareness, and interest in sports among children. He expressed his delight that Hyderabad is hosting this time-based run, which is being organised for the first time in the country for children aged between under-3 and under-18.
The run will start at Gachibowli Stadium, go via the ISB Junction, and finish back at the stadium, said Rohit Mishra, CEO of SpotOnn Sports.
There will be free entry for Hakimpet Government Sports School students. Rohit said that with the intention of providing equal opportunities to all in sports, free entry is being given to 300 students from the Government Sports School of Hakimpet.
“Every participant in the run will receive a certificate, medal, T-shirt, a special kit, and breakfast. Children who have registered for the run are advised to collect their kits at the expo being held at Ashoka One Mall, Kukatpally, and Decathlon store on Saturday between 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM. The total prize money for the run is Rs 3 lakh,” he explained.
