Kothagudem: Demanding justice for the family of civil supplies manager (HP gas) Ananthula Lakshminarayana, who died by suicide, leaders and members of the district Padmashali Sangham staged a candle light rally in Paloncha on Friday.
It may be recalled that Lakshminarayana hanged himself at a lodge in Bhadrachalam on October 17 in the district. He left a suicide note in which he held six persons, two HP Gas workers and four journalists, responsible for his death.
Speaking at the candlelight rally, Sangham leader Gundu Ravi Kumar demanded an impartial investigation to uncover the truth behind the allegations surrounding Lakshminarayana’s death. He called for strict legal action against those responsible, regardless of their status.
He further demanded a government job for a member of the bereaved family, adding that the Padmashali community would not remain silent until justice was served to Lakshminarayana’s family.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the sangham along with Lakshminarayana’s family members met with Superintendent of Police B Rohitu Raju and submitted a representation requesting a comprehensive inquiry into the death of Lakshminarayana and action against those responsible for his death.
Responding to the representation, the SP stated that the case would be thoroughly investigated to bring the facts to light and that there was no question of sparing anyone found responsible. He assured that justice would be ensured for the victim’s family.
