Padmashalis should develop politically: L Ramana

Karimnagar: TRS State leader and former minister L Ramana called upon Padmashali community people to develop politically besides educationally. Padmashali Athmeeya Sammelanam and Padmashali Vivaha Vedhika were organised by Karimnagar District Padmashali Welfare Trust at Padmashali community hall here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramana opined that people of this community were backward in all fields in the State. Community people under the aegis of late Konda Laxman Bapuji played a vital role in Telangana agitation. Besides solving the problems of the community, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was also giving adequate priority to community people in providing various posts. Community person and irrigation engineer Nalla Venkateshwarlu played a vital role in the construction of the Kaleshwaram Project.

Emphasising the need for unity among the community people, he opined that unity would help for political growth of the Padmashalis. Stating that the state government was providing adequate priority for the community in legislature bodies, he said problems of the community would be solved when they develop politically. Ramana assured to extend his support in establishing Padmashali girls’ hostel by sanctioning funds from the state government besides allocating land for the hostel.

He remembered that BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar has allocated funds for district Padmashali sangham. Informing that he brought the problems of the community people to the notice of the Chief Minister, Ramana said Chandrashekhar Rao responded positively. On the occasion, community people established in various fields were felicitated. Telangana Advocate General VN Prasad, Acharya Konda Laxman Bapuji University Vice-Chancellor Boga Niraja, Additional Collector Shyam Prasad Lal, Padmashali Sangham Trust President Swargam Mallesham, General Secretary Alsa Badraiah and others participated in the programme.
