Hyderabad: On December 2, amid the tensions of reaching home safely, the Pakistani nationals stranded at t0he border for 71 days now, had a moment of joy and celebration. A woman named Nimbu bai, stranded with her husband Balam Ram and 97 other Pakistanis, gave birth to a baby boy at the Attari border. She later named her boy ‘Border’ to commemorate his unique place of birth.

Border was born after Nimbu Bai went into labour and soon received help from women in the neighbouring areas of Punjab, and other villagers.

According to sources, the 97 Pakistani nationals visited India for pilgrimage or to meet their relatives residing in India, but could not return to Pakistan due to absence of necessary documents to enter their country. All the people unable to pass the Attari border are staying in a tent near the international check-post. They are provided with food and medical facilities by the locals there.

However, this is not the first time that a baby was given a unique name. Another Pakistani citizen, Lagya Ram named his son ‘Bharat’ when he was born in December last year.
