Hyderabad: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for his efficient and quick handling of the disaster and the response of the Telangana government in providing relief and rescue operations to the people, which has effectively mitigated the adverse effects of the flood. He also declared Rs 10 crore assistance from Chief Minister’s relief fund.
In a letter on Monday, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has said that the heavy rains and unprecedented floods in the city of Hyderabad and in certain districts of Telangana have caused extensive damage to property and have taken a toll of lives. “At this difficult time, on behalf of the State government of Tamil Nadu , I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family members of all those who have lost their lives in the rains and floods,” he said.
As a token of the support and solidarity of the government and people of Tamil Nadu, in the hour of their need the Tamil Nadu government contributed Rs 10 crore from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to the government of Telangana. “We are sending blankets and mats as relief material to the affected families,” the statement said. He also assured that the government of Tamil Nadu stands ready to render any other assistance as may be required by the Telangana government.
