Khammam: The TRS candidate for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates MLC election candidate, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy would win the election with first preference vote, predicted Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar. He had cast his vote at SSRJ College in Khammam on Sunday.

Interacting with the mediapersons, the Minister said the TRS nominee was going to win the election. He later visited several polling stations and expressed satisfaction at the arrangements made by the district administration and the police. He also thanked all the TRS workers and leaders in erstwhile Khammam who carried out an extensive campaign for the party nominee and all those who exercised their franchise in the MLC election.


District Collector RV Karnan and Commissioner of Police Tafseer have inspected several polling stations in the city monitoring the polling process and interacted with the voters. They said MLC election polling was peaceful and no untoward incidents reported.

The polling which began on a slow note picked momentum by afternoon hours. By 10 am, 7.11 per cent and 7.26 percent voting was reported in Khammam and Kothagudem districts respectively which has gone upto 20.23 per cent and 24.58 per cent respectively by 12 noon. By 4 pm, around 65.89 percent polling was reported in Khammam and polling continued after 4 pm to allow those in queue lines to cast their vote, officials said.
