Hyderabad: Celebrated in the State of Telangana, Bathukamma is a nine-day ‘festival of life’ celebrating Goddess Gauri. On October 7, Pallavi Aware International School had a grand celebration of the festival. The event was inaugurated by Director Anitha Reddy and Principal Sudeshna Mairal, wishing all the gathered a delightful Bathukamma and Navaratri. The name Bathukamma also refers to the beautiful flower arrangements that are the highlight of the festival. They were made and arranged as the centerpiece of the celebrations.
The students of different grades performed various dances welcoming the first day of the festival and wishing everyone a wonderful nine days. PAIS, in an effort to converse this culture while also breaking free of stereotypes, had all the students and school staff dance the traditional Bathukamma dance regardless of their gender. The day was filled with joy and entertainment and unity, making sure that every single person attending the event took part in the dance.
