Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister, Gangula Kamalakar said that besides enhancing green cover, the development of villages and towns was the aim of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in taking up Palle and Pattana Pragathi as well as Haritha Haram programmes.

Kamalakar planted trees in 60th division as part of Haritha Haram and laid foundation for CC road in 41st division on Sunday. On the occasion, he distributed fruit bearing saplings to women in the localities. Later, he performed pujas in Hanuman and Kanakadhurgha temples in Vavillapalli.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister informed that the development of rural areas and towns had taken a backseat during the period of previous governments. However, the situation has changed after the formation of Telangana State.

In order to develop villages and towns on all fronts, the Chief Minister has taken up Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes. Various developmental activities have been taken up by releasing funds directly to local bodies.

Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes were held for ten days in a festive atmosphere. Besides identifying peoples’ problems, permanent solutions were also found to solve them. The problems, which were identified in ten days’ programmes, would be solved in the coming days.
People were happy with the developmental activities being implemented by the state government. Stating that people were aware of the importance of tree plantation, he said people were taking steps to protect trees distributed by the government to provide a better environment to future generations.

Developing a good environment by enhancing green cover is going to be a property to be presented to the future generations, he opined and asked the people to plant trees in a big way by participating in Haritha Haram programme.

Karimnagar, which used to appear like a concrete jungle, has gradually been turning into Haritha Karimnagar with plantation of trees in a big way.

Stating that Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes got success, he informed that people were voluntarily continuing the plantation of trees as a regular practice. He thanked the Chief Minister for bringing a positive change among the public. Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao, Deputy Mayor Challa Swaroopa Rani and others participated in the programme.
