Jangaon: Stating that seven of the top 10 best villages in the country were from Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao appreciated Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao and the officials of his department for the achievement.
Speaking after inaugurating the collectorate complex, the Chief Minister said that Telangana, which had nine erstwhile districts as backward districts in the list of the planning commission, had achieved the distinction in the country for securing places in the top ten best villages in the country. “This was made possible with the successful implementation of the Palle Pragathi programme aimed at the development of the villages. Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Panchayat Raj officials and staff made it possible. My congratulations to Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao and officials, public representatives of local bodies,” the Chief Minister added.
“I salute all the ZP Chairpersons, Mandal Parishad Presidents, ZPTCs, MPTCs, Village Sarpanches who are working as part of the Panchayati Raj system. As the Chief Minister of the State and as a man who fought for the State, what could be greater than this for me. I feel proud of this achievement,” said the CM.
