Panchayat Secretary booked for Rs. 15,000 bribe in Suryapet
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked Enjamuri Venkaiah, Panchayat Secretary of Janpahad in Suryapet district, for demanding a Rs.15,000 bribe to process instalments under the Indiramma Housing Scheme. He was produced before the court, and the case is under investigation

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a case against a Panchayat Secretary in Suryapet district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe for processing instalments under the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
Officials said Enjamuri Venkaiah, Panchayat Secretary of Janpahad village in Palakeedu mandal, initially demanded Rs.20,000 from a complainant. After negotiations, he reduced the demand to Rs.15,000 as a “reward” for sanctioning the first instalment of the housing scheme. He later sought additional bribes for clearing subsequent instalments.
The accused was produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.
The ACB urged the public to report any demand of bribes through the toll-free number 1064, WhatsApp (9440446106), or Telangana ACB’s social media handles. It assured that the identity of complainants would remain confidential.
