Hyderabad: Given the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic second wave, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University -Hyderabad (JNTU-H) has revised the academic calendar for 2020-21 for BTech, BPharmacy, MBA, MCA, and Pharm D (regular) and Pharm D (PB) courses. This time, lab classwork and exams have been scheduled after the end of theory classes.
As per the new calendar issued by the university, the second spell of instructions for the BTech/BPharm II and III year- second-semester students will be held up to May 29. Following this, first mid-term examinations will be held from May 31 to June 5. The second spell of instructions will be continued from June 7 to July 17 with second mid-term exams slated to be conducted from July 19 to 24. Students will have preparatory holidays/lab classes/practical exams between July 26 and August 14. The university will hold end-semester exams from August 16 to 28.
The university authorities also revised the MBA/MCA II year second-semester academic calendar. The second spell instructions will be continued till June 19 and the second mid-term exams are scheduled to be held from June 21 to 26. The varsity has allotted preparatory holidays/lab classwork/practical exams between June 28 and July 17, and end semester exams are from July 19 to 31.
Students of Pharm.D (regular) II, III, IV, V year and Pharm.D(PB) II year will have the third spell of instructions till June 28 with the third mid-term exams scheduled to be held from June 29 to July 3. The university has allotted preparatory holidays/lab classes/practical exams from July 5 to 17 and end/supplementary exams will be conducted from July 19 and 31.
The colleges have been instructed to hold laboratory classes by strictly following the Covid-19 safety measures.
“In view of the Covid-19 pandemic second wave, we have scheduled the laboratory classwork and lab exams at the end of the theory classes. If 50 per cent of students have lab classes/exams, the other 50 per cent will have preparatory holidays. This is to ensure that a smaller number of students attend the college,” a senior official said.
