Hyderabad: City-based Mobbera Foundation celebrated three years of Supreme Court judgement decriminalising homosexuality in India by conducting a panel discussion on Sunday.

It was on September 6, 2018 when the apex court had decriminalised homosexuality in the country. Attempting to bring forward dialogue on what next, after the Supreme Court judgement, the panel discussion featured three different individuals known for their work with the community.

Kanmani R, a transwoman and a law researcher, Seema Ranjith, a biker and LGBTQ ally and Tashi Choedup, a buddhist philosopher were the panelists at the online event.

Issues like same-sex marriage, adoption and surrogacy policies regarding same-sex couples, workplace safety for all gender identities formed the crux of the panel discussion.

“The judgement was given three years ago but there’s a lot more to be done. There’s a long way to go socially and about practical aspects like financial stability and finding opportunities for members of the community. The panel discussion aimed at triggering that,” says Bhamini Sree, board member, Mobbera Foundation.
