Visakhapatnam: A committee to resolve the ring net row which led to clashes among fishermen has been set up with leaders of fishermen’s associations after YSR Congress Party Rajya Sabha member Vijay Sai Reddy, and Ministers Kurasala Kannababu, Avanti Srinivasa Rao and Seediri Appalaraju held talks with fishermen representatives here on Sunday.
Minister Appalaraju said that the committee was asked to submit its report by January 20.
Meanwhile, the Section 144 clamped near fishermen colonies on the coast in the city would be lifted from Monday and the traditional fishermen could resume fishing, he said. Ring nets could be used beyond eight km. in the sea, he added.
