Medak: Worried about the future of their children, parents whose wards were selected under the Best Available School Scheme staged a protest at the Medak Collectorate and blocked the vehicle of Collector Prathima Singh. The parents blocked the vehicle while the Collector was on her way to the camp office for lunch on Tuesday.
Though hundreds of students were studying in different schools under the scheme, the managements of the schools were refusing to allow the students into classes as the payments were still pending. The students and their parents submitted a representation to Additional Collector M Nagesh during the grievance programme on Monday.
However, they again arrived on Tuesday to stage a protest. The police convinced them to allow the Collector’s vehicle to proceed, assuring them that the issue would be brought to the notice of the government.
