Jangaon: An incident involving villagers and parents of students staging a protest demanding the suspension of a school assistant took place at ZPHS, Nashkal, in Chilpur mandal of the district.
The protesting parents and villagers alleged that the school assistant, Jyothi Lakshmi, who teaches English at the school, had been behaving strangely towards the students. During a census-related activity, she allegedly asked a female student inappropriate questions, forcing the student to stop attending classes.
When the local sarpanch, Raju, questioned her about the matter, she allegedly reacted erratically by throwing books at students, laughing mockingly and sitting in the headmaster’s chair. She also allegedly behaved rudely towards police personnel who arrived at the school after locals called Dial 100.
This unusual behaviour by the government school teacher has become a topic of discussion. While the reasons behind her behaviour remain unknown, the teacher’s husband reportedly claimed that her health condition was good.
A video of the teacher’s actions is currently going viral on social media. Sarpanch Raju told the media that there had been complaints against the teacher in the past as well. He demanded that the Education Department take immediate action against Jyothi Lakshmi and either transfer her to another school or suspend her.
