Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Parents staged a sit-in on a road demanding that officials shift students from a dilapidated social welfare hostel to a safer place in Sirpur (T) mandal centre on Monday.
The agitating parents alleged that officials were showing negligence in repairing the hostel building, thereby risking the lives of students despite repeated requests. They urged officials to ensure the safety of the children by relocating them to a safer facility.
Meanwhile, BRS cadres extended solidarity to the protest. BRS leader Dr RS Praveen Kumar assured that he would bring the issue to the notice of higher officials for early action. He criticised local MLA Dr Harish Babu and MLC Dande Vittal for failing to provide basic amenities and address public grievances.
