Passenger arrested at Hyderabad airport for smoking on board IndiGo flight
RGIA police arrested Hyderabad resident S Gangaram for smoking inside an IndiGo flight arriving from Dubai. Despite the DGCA ban, he carried cigarettes and a lighter and smoked in the lavatory. Airline staff seized the items and alerted authorities

Hyderabad: A passenger was arrested for allegedly smoking on board a flight at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Sunday.
According to airport officials, S Gangaram, a resident of Hyderabad, had travelled to Dubai for personal work and was returning on IndiGo Airlines flight 6E-1466. Despite the ban by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), he secretly carried cigarettes and a lighter onto the aircraft.
During the flight, he went into the lavatory and smoked a cigarette. When smoke was noticed outside, the airline staff grew alert, checked his belongings and seized the cigarettes and lighter.
The RGIA police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
