Passengers rescued as car goes up flames in Adilabad
A major tragedy was averted at Ichoda mandal centre in Adilabad district after locals rescued passengers from a car that caught fire while travelling towards Nirmal. The vehicle was reduced to ashes within minutes. Firefighters later extinguished the blaze
Adilabad: A major tragedy was averted when locals rescued passengers from a car that caught fire at Ichoda mandal centre on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses said they noticed smoke coming from the car travelling from Adilabad to Nirmal. They said they quickly pulled the occupants out of the vehicle. Within minutes, flames engulfed the car, reducing it to ashes.
Passengers could have been burnt alive had the locals not intervened in time, police said. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
On receiving information, firefighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
